The villa has been in the same noble family for more than 15 generations. Originally constructed in the middle ages, many additions were made through the Renaissance period and up to the 18th C. A complete renovation from the ground up took place through the late 1990s. The villa boasts 12 double bedrooms and 1 single bedroom all tastefully appointed and beautifully decorated with bathroom en suite. In addition to the bedroom accommodation there are many beautiful common rooms located throughout the property. There are two outdoor terraces for meals, one with B.B.Q., as well as three indoor dining rooms. A cellar level is home to an impressive reconverted granary, wine cellar and billiard room. The barrel vaulted main living room is on two levels and runs almost the entire length of the main villa. There is a TV room on the second floor, complete with playstation and SKY TV satellite, gifted a couple of years ago by former guest Rupert Murdoch. The swimming pool area includes a pool house with wet-bar, spacious surrounding terraces, and solid teak furniture with comfortable mattresses. This area is an ideal place for afternoon or before dinner drinks or simply lounging in the sunshine. Behind the swimming pool lies the villa’s tennis court. Lawns and gardens surround the property and the view across the valley behind the villa is breathtaking. Each bedroom has a telephone with a private line. On-site there is also an office with internet connection and fax. The eight staff at the villa look after cleaning, serving, up-keep and gardening. A very capable cook is available for lunch and dinner meals. Her repertoire is extensive and reads like a fine Tuscan cookbook.
